The Defense Information Systems Agency has announced a $7.8 billion acquisition vehicle aiming to procure a unified enterprise software that would streamline office productivity, messaging, content management and collaboration within the Defense Department.
DISA said Monday it will use the potential 10-year Defense Enterprise Office Solution (DEOS) single-award contract to acquire a platform to replace legacy organizational DoD systems such as the Defense Enterprise Email and the Enterprise Portal Service.
DEOS will seek to improve the management of resources, processes and services; as well as allow branches and agencies to operate with each other through a common platform.
“Our goal is to take the capabilities that are available now; change the way we work to take advantage of these commercial services, and receive all of the upgrades and improvements that industry brings to their commercial customers,†said Brian Hermann, unified capabilities portfolio manager at DISA.
The agency issued a draft request for proposal through May 7th and expects to release the solicitation in the final quarter of fiscal year 2018.
The actual DEOS contract is scheduled to be awarded in fiscal year 2019.
