Chris McGugan, a more than 25-year communications technology veteran, has returned to Avaya as chief technology strategist.
Avaya said Monday McGugan will work to assess customer requirements, market trends and the potential of new and emerging digital platforms to create value for clients.
He served as vice president of emerging products and technology at the communications technology provider from 2011 to 2014 and as VP of contact center solutions and marketing from 2008 to 2011.
Prior to Avaya, he was the operating executive at a retail firm and also served as a board adviser at multiple global technology companies.
McGugan held executive and management roles at Belkin, Cisco and Symbol Technologies, which Motorola acquired in 2007.
