Northrop Provides Virtual Training to Army Rangers

Northrop Grumman has conducted virtual training sessions for U.S. Army rangers who are certified Joint Terminal Air Controllers.

The training took place at Northrop’s Distributed Training Center located at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia and involved simulations of actual battle scenarios with corresponding deployment locations, the company said Wednesday.

DTC and Joint Base Lewis McCord’s 5th Air Support Operations Squadron created the scenarios for participating rangers, who are part of the Army’s 2nd Ranger Battalion.

The combat air force and close air support assets of DTC’s Distributed Mission Operations Network were used to address the program’s comprehensive needs.

JTACs are required to undergo DMO simulator training to maintain their certifications.
