Lt. Gen. Arnold Bunch: Air Force, Northrop Make Progress in B-21 Bomber Program - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Lt. Gen. Arnold Bunch, military deputy in the office of the assistant U.S. Air Force secretary for acquisition, has said Northrop Grumman has made progress toward developing the service branch’s next bomber aircraft, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

Bunch told a Senate Armed Services subcommittee at a hearing Wednesday the B-21 Long Range Strike Bomber program has completed preliminary design review and received an initial software package.

“We’re making everything ready to begin our test program in the future,” he added.

Northrop won the LRSB contract in 2015 and will build the aircraft at a company facility in Palmdale, Calif.

The Air Force’s fiscal 2019 budget request includes $2.3 billion for the bomber program.
