Lockheed Martin‘s rotary and mission systems business will help enhance the U.S. Navy‘s guided missile destroyers under a potential three-year, $68.5 million contract modification that runs through June 2021.
The Defense Department said Thursday the company will support the restoration of the USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) and supply five upgraded AN/SPY-1D(V) phased arrays for in-service DDGs designed for ballistic missile defense.
The modification amount will be fully covered by the service branch’s funds for fiscal 2012 shipbuilding and conversion, fiscals 2017 and 2018 other procurement and fiscal 2018 operation and maintenance.
The Naval Sea Systems Command performed the contracting activity.
