General Electric has received a one-year, $91.6 million contract modification to manufacture additional engines for the U.S. Navy‘s F/A-18 Hornet aircraft.
The Navy exercised an option for GE to supply 24 lot 22 full-rate production F414-GE-400 engines to support aircraft construction and delivery efforts, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
Work will occur at various locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Kentucky through February 2019.
The Naval Air Systems Command is the contracting activity and the full obligated amount at the time of award is from the service branch’s fiscal 2018 aircraft procurement funds.
