John Brennan, former CIA director, has joined SecureAuth + Core Security as a member of the company’s advisory board.

Brennan will leverage his more than 30 years of experience in both public and private sectors to offer advice on new market opportunities and product strategy for the company’s identity-based security automation platform, SecureAuth + Core Security said Thursday.

SecureAuth + Core Security CEO Jeff Kukowski said Brennan is a cybersecurity industry professional who sees the need to protect enterprise systems through the adoption of an integrated and automated approach that combines identity governance and administration with identity and access management.

“Having worked with many companies that are trying to generate optimal results from their increased cybersecurity spend, I am excited at the opportunity to work with SecureAuth + Core Security for their identity-based approach to security,” Brennan said.

Brennan, who served as CIA director for four years, joined the agency in 1980 and held senior leadership roles such as deputy executive director and chief of staff to then-CIA chief George Tenet.

He previously served as acting director of the National Counterterrorism Center, deputy national security adviser and assistant to the president for counterterrorism and homeland security during the Obama administration.
