The Department of Homeland Security‘s Science and Technology Directorate and Transportation Security Administration plan to host a joint event on May 4 in Menlo Park, California.
DHS said Friday the Homeland Security Industry Day aims to inform technology startups of the department’s current operational requirements and identify opportunities for collaboration with companies to address transportation security challenges.
The event will feature the Object Recognition and Adaptive Algorithms in Passenger Property Screening program that seeks proposals on the potential use of adaptive image interpretation and object recognition methods to aid TSA’s passenger property screening efforts.
Proposers will have an opportunity to receive non-dilutive funds of up to $800,000 from the department through the “other transaction” solicitation under the S&T’s Silicon Valley Innovation Program.
Interested parties can register for the industry day via the DHS website.
