Charles River Analytics will demonstrate a hybrid reality command-and-control technology intended for space battle management during a four-day industry event scheduled to kick off Monday in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The company said Wednesday its SOLAR application will function as a front-end operator-facing tool based on BAE Systems’ SBMC2 testbed.
SOLAR is built through the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency’s Hallmark program that seeks new tools to help operators gain space situational awareness data from multiple sources.
Charles River developed the application under a $1.5 million contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory.
“We plan to use augmented and virtual reality technologies so SSA decision makers can quickly experience multiple potential actions and their modeled effects, making them better able to meet 21st-century space domain demands,” said Michael Jenkins, Charles River senior scientist and SOLAR principal investigator.
The company will present the tool at the 34th Space Symposium.
