Boeing’s Tapestry Solutions subsidiary has rolled out its Enterprise Sensor Integration software system at BAE Systems’ facility in Nashua, New Hampshire, to help the British firm modernize its manufacturing infrastructure.
Boeing said Monday it integrated Impinj Speedway radio frequency identification readers, Mojix STAR wide-area RFID sensors and other enterprise resource planning and asset management or ordering systems to install ESI at the Nashua plant.
BAE Systems will also adopt the platform in its other manufacturing facilities in New Hampshire, New Jersey, Texas and California.
Michael Spencer, vice president of global sales and marketing at Tapestry Solutions, stated that BAE Systems can use ESI with existing networks, as well as scale it to enhance future operations.
ESI is designed to combine the capabilities of myriad sensor technologies that track, monitor and control assets and workflow processes.
The platform leverages big data and analytics to enhance manufacturing procedures.
