Ball Aerospace has completed the second of five assessments on a space system testing platform being developed for the Air Force Research Laboratory and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
The company said Thursday it demonstrated the open and development approach for the Space Evaluation and Analysis Capability testbed through DARPA’s Hallmark program.
“To assess the effectiveness of the testbed and tools during the recent evaluation event, Ball simulated three different government-provided scenarios that required a timely analysis and response,” said Carl Fischer, chief technologist of Ball Aerospace’s advanced ISR solutions business unit.
Hallmark aims to mature technologies that can support command, control and protection of assets through real-time space-domain surveillance.
The SEAC platform is designed to have operator interfaces, simulation and scenario playback functions for the simulation of multiple technologies and tools from various companies and academic institutions.
Ball noted it will incorporate DARPA’s “zero-integrator” approach and DevOps software development practices into the testbed development effort.
