The 20-storey tower will be situated in Sacramento and accommodate more than 3,500 employees from the state departments of Natural Resources, Water Resources and Forestry and Fire Protection as well as the Wildlife Conservation Board, Turner said Friday.
“At approximately 838,000 square feet, the $520 million headquarters building for the Department of Natural Resources will offer much-needed technical and collaboration space for the critical government functions that protect California’s environment and natural resources,†said Grant Griffanti, a project executive at Turner.
Griffanti added the facility will seek Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-Platinum certification and include modern heating and cooling equipment.
The project is scheduled to commence this fall and be complete by the summer of 2021.
Turner and AC Martin have completed 12 construction projects in California throughout their 45-year partnership.
