SAS and VirtualHealth have partnered to combine an integrated care management platform with analytics in an effort to help government agencies manage delivery of healthcare services.
The alliance plans to integrate SAS’ data management, visualization and analytics tools, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, into VirtualHealth’s care management platform, SAS said Monday.
The combined offering is designed to support whole person care, which addresses the unique needs of patients to optimize health outcomes.
SAS and VirtualHealth also seek to address customers’ need for a value-based healthcare delivery model that would pay providers based on patient health results.
Value-based care agreements offer an evidence-based method to reward hospitals and clinicians for patient health improvements and reduced effects and incidences of chronic disease, SAS noted.
