The U.S. Navy has awarded Orbital ATK a potential $67.6 million contract to manufacture an 11th batch of GQM-163A Coyote sea skimming target base vehicles.
Orbital ATK will provide 24 full-rate production base vehicles and spares foreign military sales to USN and Qatar as well as deliver D6AC long lead steel to Japan, the Defense Department said Wednesday.
The company will receive the full obligated amount at the time of award from fiscal 2016, 2017 and 2018 weapons procurement and foreign military sales funds.
DoD noted that 99.83 percent of contract purchases are for USN, 0.14 percent for Qatar and the remaining 0.03 percent for Japan
Work will occur at various locations in Arizona, Arkansas, Vermont, Pennsylvania and California through June 2021.
Orbital ATK began developing GQM-163A in 2000 as a sea skimming target specifically designed for the Navy.
