The U.S. Navy has asked industry for technical information on air vehicle systems designed to expand and complement a joint force’s capability to carry out crisis response, campaigns and other operations across maritime, ground and littoral environments.
A FedBizOpps notice posted Friday says the Naval Air Systems Command seeks industry input on aerial vehicle platforms in support of the Marine Air Ground Task Force Unmanned Aircraft System Expeditionary program.
The MUX program seeks to address aviation capability gaps across the areas of electronic warfare; battlespace awareness; kinetic lethal fires; logistics; and command, control, communications and computers.
NAVAIR cited several capability requirements such as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; early warning; communications relay; offensive air support; cargo and aerial escort.
Interested companies should provide a general description of their air vehicle platform and related mission systems, offer a weight and balance summary for the vehicle design concept and information on the platform’s external and internal payload capacity.
Responses to the RFI are due May 7, according to the notice.
