Orbital ATK has agreed to reaffirm Kratos Defense & Security Solutions’ exclusive rights to offer Oriole solid propellant rocket motors in suborbital research, sounding rocket and threat representative target market areas.
Kratos said Tuesday its space and missile defense systems business unit will leverage the exclusive rights agreement with Orbital ATK’s missile products division to produce and deliver Oriole SPRMs and other missile defense-related threat representative target hardware to a U.S. government agency under a potential $11 million contract.
Dave Carter, president of defense and rocket support services at Kratos, said the agreement seeks to reflect the company’s commitment to continue to deliver technology platforms designed to help government agencies address their mission needs and requirements.
Kratos said the agreement also recognizes its investment in the Oriole rocket motor design and development.
