Inmarsat has received recognition from the Mobile Satellite Users Association for the company’s L-band service offering designed to support beyond line-of-sight tactical communications.
The company said Wednesday its L-band Tactical Satellite service won the 2018 Mobility Innovation Award in the “Top Government Mobility Satcom Innovation†category.
“We are proud to win this award for the third consecutive year as it is a testament to our ongoing commitment to innovation built to users’ requirements,” said Steve Gizinski, chief technology officer of Inmarsat’s government arm.
L-TAC works to help military customers manage voice and data circuits between radio systems and functions through the Inmarsat-4 satellite system.
The company previously accepted Mobility Innovation Awards for its Wideband Streaming L-band and Global Xpress satellite broadband services.
