IARPA Taps 4 Industry Teams for User Environment Security Project - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity has selected four companies to develop technology platforms to help protect computers from cloud security threats.

Raytheon‘s BBN Technologies business, Next Century, Siege Technologies and Star Labs will lead performance teams under IARPA’s Virtuous User Environment project, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said Tuesday.

VirtUE seeks a user environment that can avoid phishing and cybersecurity attacks.

Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Laboratory to serve as the program’s test and evaluation adviser.

The initial phase of the VirtUE program will run through May 2019.

IARPA noted it will release resulting documentation and software as open source products as part of intelligence community transparency efforts.
