Charles River Analytics has received a four-year, $4.4 million Defense Advanced Research Project Agency contract to develop an analytical tool to help study and address security threats occurring within the country and across the globe.
The company said Monday it intends to design the Sensitivity Analysis of Uncertainty in Causal Environments technology as a tool to primarily address food insecurity through the use of causal analysis automation methods.
This security issue pertains to the shortage of food resulting from war and conflict.
Dr. Emanuele Borgonovo of Italy’s Bocconi University; Dr. Alexander Ihler of the University of California at Irvine; and Dr. Alexander Levis of George Mason University are among the scientists who will contribute support for the SAUCE effort.
The analytics company intends to use its Figaro programming language in developing SAUCE’s probability-based predictive functions.
