Cubic’s global defense business and Thales have partnered to compete for the U.K. defense ministry’s Joint Fires Synthetic Training project.

Cubic said Thursday the JFST project is part of the Training and Simulation Systems Program and seeks to provide joint fires systems to support the training of the British armed forces across ground, aerial and littoral domains.

Dave Buss, president of Cubic Global Defense, said the company expects the consortium to meet the U.K. armed forces’ need for synthetic and live joint force training systems through the JFST competition.

Thales and Cubic Global Defense will pursue the JFST project by combining their technologies and capabilities across several areas such as live, virtual, constructive training; after-action review tooling and exercise management; training service delivery; and network security.
