CTC to Help Air Force Develop Expeditionary Black Water Treatment System - top government contractors - best government contracting eventConcurrent Technologies Corp. will develop a black water processing system for military expeditionary sites under a $1.6 million contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory’s  Advanced Power Technology Office.

The Expeditionary Black Water Processing System will be built to reduce the impacts of wastewater on the natural environment of host nations, the company said Tuesday.

Thomas Piro, a CTC project manager, said that EBWPS will operate and complement the company’s Expeditionary Wastewater Reuse System for grey water processing at Basic Expeditionary Airfield Resource sites.

Mark Ray, CTC’s AFRL-APTO program manager, said the company aims to build an “energy-efficient” black water treatment process that will comply with the direct discharge standards of the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army‘s Public Health Center.
