Amazon Web Services has concluded an independent evaluation that would allow Australian government agencies to perform self-accreditation to host data at the protected level on the AWS cloud platform within the Sydney region, CRN reported Thursday.
The completion of the Information Security Registered Assessors Program assessment comes as AWS continues to work with the Australian defense department’s signals directorate to receive certification to host protected-level workloads.
AWS said it will provide government clients documentation and 46 cloud services to help customers assess the company’s protected-level service offerings.
In late 2017, the company introduced a new cloud region – AWS Secret Region – designed to host secret-level datasets for U.S. intelligence community clients.
