Tetra Tech has received a potential five-year, $32 million contract to provide technical expertise for a U.S. Agency for International Development program that seeks to expand water, sanitation and hygiene services across Uganda.
The company said Tuesday it aims to assist Uganda’s government in efforts to increase household access to sanitation and improve the quality of health within homes, schools and health facilities.
Additionally, Tetra Tech will facilitate and document evidence-based behavior change campaigns through the use of sensors, water usage information and mobile texting surveys.
These services support USAID’s partnership with Uganda’s ministries of health and water and environment to promote WASH policy reforms in the country.
Tetra Tech noted it will also partner with Uganda-based companies to encourage investments, public-private collaboration and financing efforts throughout the WASH sector.
