Siemens and several other companies have signed a joint charter on cybersecurity at the Munich Security Conference in Germany.
Siemens said Friday it will work with Airbus, IBM, Daimler Group, Allianz, NXP, Deutsche Telekom and SGS as well as MSC to address 10 cybersecurity action areas under the joint charter.
One of those action areas is the promotion of cyber responsibility in both industry and government sector through the establishment of cyber-focused government ministries and designation of chief information security officers at companies.
The charter will also call for firms to form independent, third-party certification for critical infrastructure and platforms as well as advance cyber training, international programs and continuing education efforts.
“Confidence that the security of data and networked systems is guaranteed is a key element of the digital transformation,” said Joe Kaeser, Siemens president and CEO.
“We hope more partners will join us to further strengthen our initiative,†he added.
