Rockwell Collins has granted Taiwan’s state-owned Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation rights to manufacture AR-1500 networked communications airborne radios through a manufacturing license agreement between the two companies.
Taiwan will become the first international customer to procure the Rockwell Collins-developed radio technology, the company said Sunday.
AR-1500 is designed to help airborne and ground users transmit and secure data, voice and imagery communications.
Rockwell Collins noted that the radio can be configured to incorporate country-specific waveforms and software-based radio architecture.
AIDC operates under the authority of Taiwan’s ministry of economic affairs.
