A Northrop Grumman subsidiary has received a contract from a state-owned air navigation service provider in Denmark to provide new ground-to-air communications equipment and associated support to the country’s airports.
Naviair will use T6 air traffic control radios from Northrop’s Park Air Systems business to replace radio systems that currently support Danish airports and en-route operations as part of a national system upgrade effort, Northrop said Friday.
T6 is designed to comply with the latest voice over internet protocols and support multiple VoIP sessions and IP recorders simultaneously.
“We will be taking delivery of the new T6 radios in two batches, one in late 2017 and the next in the first quarter of 2018,†said Tejpal Singh Binning of Naviair.
Park Air Systems will also provide the MARC Remote Control and Monitoring System as well as training on system operations and maintenance for Naviair employees at the U.K.-based Park Air Academy.
MARC Server is a browser-based platform built to help customers remotely monitor and manage their Sapphire ATM communications equipment with tablets or desktops.
