Parsons has appointed Joseph Averkamp, formerly chief technology lead at Conduent‘s tolling and intelligent transportation systems business, as a vice president and systems product sales lead.
Parsons said Thursday Averkamp will support business development and marketing growth efforts of the company’s systems group within the eastern U.S. region.
He holds more than 28 years of industry experience in the areas of marketing, business development, project management and technology assessment.
Averkamp also previously held positions at Booz Allen Hamilton, Motorola and Ford.
Throughout his career, he has marketed a variety of technology platforms such as global positioning systems, tolling sensors, electronic systems, wireless systems and automobiles.
Averkamp holds bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and mathematics from University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and an M.B.A. degree from University of Chicago.
