Jacobs Engineering Group has received the 2017 Best Reliability Program of the Year award from Uptime magazine for the company’s work on a maintenance system at NASA’s Langley Research Center.
Jacobs said Tuesday it helped the space agency create maintenance strategies for the Langley facility as well as implement a suite of tools for the center to prevent system failures and extend the life of assets there.
Langley has saved $5.3 million since the center implemented Jacobs’ maintenance recommendations in 2015 and avoided unplanned asset downtime over the past three years.
“We’re honored to serve and share in the recognition of a technologically complex reliability program that exceeded objectives for another mission accomplished in our longstanding partnership,” said Terry Hagen, president of Jacobs’ aerospace and technology business.
Hagen, a a 2018 Wash100 recipient, added that NASA has twice recognized the company as Large Business Prime Contractor of the Year.
