A Vigor Industrial subsidiary has received a $19.6 million contract to support repair and alteration work on a U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer.
Vigor Marine will support scheduled, selected restricted availability activities for the USS Kidd (DDG 100) as part of the service branch’s Arleigh Burke-class destroyer ship repair program, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
Contract work will occur in Everett, Washington, through September 2018 and be financed with the Navy operations and maintenance funds along with DoD working capital funds for fiscal 2018.
The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility received one offer for the firm-fixed-price contract via a competitive procurement on FedBizOpps.
The SRA effort will cover ship modernization alterations, painting, blasting and surface preparation for complete or touch-up preservation of various ship structures.
