Seth Faith, former assistant professor at North Carolina State University’s Department of Molecular Biomedical Sciences, has been appointed as research leader for Battelle‘s applied genomics program.

Battelle said Thursday Faith previously worked as a technical leader in the nonprofit company’s human DNA forensics and genomics unit, where he led the development of a forensic human identification methodology.

He also held the roles of principal research scientist and research scientist at Battelle.

Faith currently leads research studies in DNA forensics, biosecurity and data analysis for the Justice Department, Defense Department and other government agencies.

He previously served as an aerobiology specialist and a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pittsburgh.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and microbiology from the University of Akron as well as a doctorate in cell and molecular biology from Kent State University and Northeastern Ohio Medical University.
