Booz Allen Hamilton is working with the Missile Defense Agency to strengthen the cybersecurity of U.S. ballistic missile defense system as part of a potential five-year, $91.5 million contract awarded in August 2017.
Robert Smith, a senior vice president at Booz Allen, said in a statement published Tuesday the company aims to apply new cybersecurity approaches to help safeguard the country’s BMDS.
Smith added he believes that incident response automation, system security advancement and data science methods are key to increase cyber resiliency and mission effectiveness.
Booz Allen has supported Defense Department missions since the company won its first contract with the U.S. Navy in 1940.
BMDS is designed to help armed forces defend the U.S. and its allies from ballistic missile threats.
