Report: CSRA Eyes February Launch for DoD's milCloud 2.0 - top government contractors - best government contracting eventCSRA announced that it aims to introduce the second version of the Defense Department‘s cloud computing platform on February 1, three months ahead of the initially scheduled launch date. The unclassified sections of MilCloud 2.0 will be rolled out at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma and Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama, the Washington Business Journal reported Saturday.

Company executives said Friday that 15 to 20 DoD clients have already subscribed to the cloud platform. The launch of milCloud 2.0 involves the migration of applications and workloads from a government cloud environment to a contractor-run cloud infrastructure housed within a Pentagon-operated data center.

CSRA will deploy milCloud 2.0 under a potential $498 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract the Defense Information Systems Agency awarded in June 2017.

MilCloud is an infrastructure-as-a-service platform designed to meet DoD’s cloud services requirements through the combination of commercial off-the-shelf platforms and government-built technologies.
