KBR has announced that it does not expect the liquidation of British construction and facilities management provider Carillion to result in any disruption in the delivery of services for a U.K. defense project being carried out by its joint venture with the latter company.
“We’ve been aware of Carillion’s challenges for some time and have taken necessary steps to facilitate a seamless transition and we are operating business as usual,” Stuart Bradie, KBR president and CEO, said in a statement published Monday.
Bradie added KBR will continue to collaborate with the U.K. defense ministry to identify options to further support the agency’s programs.
KBR and Carillion support U.K.’s Project Allenby Connaught through their Aspire Defence joint venture.
Under the project, Aspire Defence entities provide construction, design and maintenance services to help the U.K. army build up living and working conditions for soldiers.
KBR noted that the company has begun contingency planning efforts in the last three months and is positioned to continue to support the contract with MoD.
