Argus Cyber Security and Renesas Electronics have integrated their respective offerings to develop a new security system designed to keep connected and autonomous vehicles safe from potential cyber attacks.
The Argus Connectivity Protection and Argus Lifespan Protection systems were merged with the Renesas R-Car H3 system-on-chip automotive computing platform to help mitigate potential threats to vulnerable attack surfaces such as vehicle infotainment and telematics units, Argus said Friday.
Argus Connectivity Protection was built to disrupt malware installation, track operating system anomalies and prevent the spread of attacks within the in-vehicle network.
Elektrobit’s Argus subsidiary developed the Argus Lifespan Protection system to help users observe the cyber health of vehicles through the cloud and offer big data analytics that can determine patterns and predict potential future attacks.
Toni Heilbronn, chief marketing officer at Argus Cyber Security, said the integration of the security offerings builds on Argus’ efforts to protect all connected and autonomous vehicles from cyber threats.
Renesas and Argus will demonstrate the joint system at the AGL Showcase and the GENIVI CES 2018 Networking Reception.
