American Systems to Build Air Force’s Emergency Notification Platform; Peter Smith Comments

American Systems has won a potential five-year, $68.6 million task order to help the U.S. Air Force develop and implement a emergency mass notification system.

The company said Tuesday it will build a cloud-based enterprise EMNS infrastructure for the service branch’s personnel to receive alerts in the event of a critical situation.

“We are honored to have been selected by the Air Force to supplement their global readiness communications channels,” said Peter Smith, president and CEO of American Systems.

“We know how important it is to our nation’s airmen and their families that they have a secure, real-time emergency notification system no matter where they are serving—we know what’s at stake,” Smith added.

The  Air Force’s EMNS will employ BlackBerry‘s AtHoc Crisis Communications Software Suite designed to run on Amazon Web Services‘ cloud platform.

American Systems secured the task order through the NETCENTS–2 Network Operations and Infrastructure Solutions contract.
