Aerojet Rocketdyne has won a potential five-year, $20 million contract to develop solid rocket booster technology as part of the U.S. Air Force‘s efforts to address technical requirements for future propulsion systems.
The service branch can use the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to order solid rocket motors for tactical, strategic or spacecraft engines, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
The Air Force will obligate $925,048 at the time of award from its fiscal 2017Â research, development, test and engineering funds.
Aerojet Rocketdyne will perform work in Rancho Cordova, California, and is expected to complete work by Jan. 18, 2023.
