Twelve employees of Leidos will receive numerous awards at the 32nd annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards science, technology, engineering and math conference to be held from Feb. 8-10 in Washington D.C.
Roger Krone, chairman and CEO of Leidos, said in a statement published Wednesday he believes this year’s BEYA award recipients are problem solvers who will help inspire younger generations to pursue innovation in the science and technology field.
Krone will hand over to 10 Leidos employees the Modern Day Technology Leader award that seeks to recognize individuals who contribute to technology development and scientific research efforts in support of public and private sectors.

Karoom Brown, a Leidos employee, will receive the Technical Sales and Marketing award for his efforts in helping the firm land a $6.8 billion contract for medical disability exam services with the Veterans Benefits Administration.
Leidos’ Roy Jones Jr. will also get the Lester L. Lyles Legacy Award for his mentoring support to STEM students and volunteer work with a youth robotics group.
