A business unit of Tyonek Native Corporation has received a potential $16 million contract to install a technology for the U.S. Air Force to monitor the performance of the military branch’s UH-1N Huey helicopter fleet.
Tyonek Global Services will support the integration of a health and usage monitoring system into the utility helicopter platform under the firm-fixed-price, cost-reimbursable contract, the Defense Department said Friday.
Work will occur through March 30, 2019, and the obligated amount of $10.6 million at the time of award is from the Air Force’s fiscal 2017 aircraft procurement funds.
UH-1N is manufactured by Textron‘s Bell Helicopter subsidiary and designed primarily to support transport of emergency security troops, surveillance of off-base nuclear weapons convoys and airlift of distinguished visitors.
