Govplace has received a contract from the Transportation Security Administration to utilize Sqrrl-built threat hunting software designed to analyze information technology networks and determine potential cyber compromises.
Govplace said Wednesday the TSA intends to merge the Sqrrl Threat Hunting Platform with current security platforms and distribute Sqrrl-generated data to Department of Homeland Security personnel.
The Sqrrl platform met various TSA requirements including the need for a cyber data analytics and machine learning capacity, data analytics and data search functions, risk scoring framework and graphical user interface that can aid threat hunting workflows.
Ely Kahn, Sqrrl co-founder and vice president of business development, said the company’s threat hunting strategies will look to boost TSA’s threat detection capacity and cut the amount of time and resources needed to conduct threat investigations.
TSA awarded a prime contract to GovPlace via the DHS FirstSource II contract vehicle for the latter to serve as a value added reseller of the Sqrrl Threat Hunting Platform.
