United Technologies Corp. and Rockwell Collins could determine by the end of March the location of the corporate headquarters for a new entity that would be formed through UTC’s acquisition of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based avionics contractor, The Gazette reported Monday.
Farmington, Connecticut-based UTC agreed to buy Rockwell Collins in September for approximately $30 billion and said it would combine the latter company with the conglomerate’s aerospace systems division into a new business unit that will operate as Collins Aerospace Systems.
Rockwell Collins said in a Q&A post on its intranet and made public through its Securities and Exchange Commission filing that the company expects to announce the new business unit’s corporate office by the end of the second quarter of fiscal 2018, according to the report.
The report noted that Rockwell Collins’ fiscal year starts Oct. 1 and runs through the end of September.
UTC expects to complete the acquisition in the third quarter of 2018.
