Raytheon has created an aerospace and defense subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates to mark its 30th year of partnership with the country’s government.
John Brauneis, formerly vice president for supply chain management at Raytheon, will serve as chief executive of the Abu Dhabi-based Raytheon Emirates business, the company said Wednesday.
Brauneis said the subsidiary aims to help expand its parent company’s footprint in UAE through local hiring, talent development, supplier base cultivation and technology development efforts.
Raytheon Emirates seeks to offer advanced technology, cybersecurity, air defense and sustainment services to the region’s A&D market.
Thomas Kennedy, chairman and CEO of Raytheon, said the company has pledged to help UAE government address the country’s economic, defense and security requirements through partnerships.
The company incorporated the new subsidiary on Al Maryah Island and noted it plans to establish operational branches in several other locations across Abu Dhabi.
