Nicole Gardner: IBM Looks to Hire 2K More Military Veterans

Nicole Gardner, a vice president of IBM’s global business services division, has said the company intends to employ 2,000 additional veterans, Park Cities People reported Tuesday.

Gardner said during a panel discussion on the “Keeping America’s Promise” program that veterans are great team players and contribute to companies through their problem-solving skills.

“They are obviously up for a challenge,” she added.

Gardner, also leader of IBM’s Public Service Eminence Academy, helped establish the Former Government Executives Council at the IBM Center for the Business of Government.

She joined the company in 2002 and held senior leadership roles since then such as VP for U.S. federal health care industry, global innovation officer for public sector and VP of social services.

Prior to IBM, Gardner worked as a partner and senior consultant at PwC for seven years.

Keeping America’s Promise is a town hall meeting-like program that aims to identify resources that could help retired service personnel enter the workforce and is co-produced by syndicated television show Hiring America and nonprofit organization WorkingNation.
