Leonardo DRS to Engineer Army Fighting Vehicle Targeting Subsystem - top government contractors - best government contracting eventThe network and imaging business division of Leonardo DRS has received a $15.7 million contract to engineer a targeting subsystem designed for the U.S. Army‘s Bradley fighting vehicles.

Work under the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract covers engineering services for the Improved Bradley Acquisition Subsystem through March 31, 2022, the Defense Department said Friday.

DoD noted the full obligated amount at the time of award is from the Army’s fiscal 2018 Army operations and maintenance funds.

IBAS is designed to help military gunners recognize, detect and identify static and moving targets in the battlefield.

Leonardo DRS equips the system with a forward-looking infrared sensor; laser range finder; tube-launched, optically tracked, wire-guided missile tracker; and a day color or monochrome camera.
