Leidos has opened a new facility in Canberra, Australia, in a move to provide collaboration space for the company’s employees, clients and partners to explore new technology platforms, ARN reported Friday.
The CONNECT hub will employ at least 20 professionals and support government customer programs in the information technology, communications, cyber, geospatial analytics and simulation areas.
“Australia is an important part of the Leidos global business strategy and the ongoing investment in Leidos CONNECT is a reflection of that,” said Tim Reardon, president of Leidos’ defense and intelligence group.
The government IT services contractor seeks to collaborate with other technology firms such as Cisco, Intel, Microsoft and VMware, as well as with Australia-based universities through the new facility.
Christine Zeitz, managing director of Leidos’ Australian arm, said the company plans to invest $9.1 million in the new collaboration hub over the next seven years.
