Germany-based sensor provider Hensoldt has tested its counter unmanned aerial vehicle system designed to defend airports and other infrastructure from potential threats.
The company said Wednesday its Xpeller counter-UAV system was demonstrated at the Airbus airfield in Hamburg, Germany for spectators that included airport operators and representatives from armed forces, industrial companies and police forces.
Xpeller utilized a targeted jammer, radar, radio frequency and optical sensors to offer optimum surveillance capacity across the entire area and detect UAVs that originate from various locations.
Hensoldt noted the Xpeller family of products consists of camera and radio frequency detectors, radar, direction finders and jammer technologies that help track and identify drones and potential threats at a range of several miles.
