Fluor has finished repair work on sections of priority power lines in Puerto Rico under a potential $240 million task order from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The company said Thursday that it fixed 38-kilovolt power lines situated near the city of San Juan and a fourth priority 38-kilovolt line near Caguas.
Matt Hunt, an executive program director at Fluor, said that the company collaborates with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority and USACE on the power restoration project.
The completed lines will power multiple schools, residential areas and commercial districts and a Caguas-based pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
Fluor noted it has deployed more than 1,600 personnel and bought more than $37 million in products and services from more than 60 local subcontractors and vendors in efforts to restore electricity in Puerto Rico.
