Elbit Systems‘ U.S. subsidiary will team up with the Metropolitan State University to create a facility that will support cybersecurity professionals’ training and simulation activities at the university’s St. Paul, Minnesota-based campus.
The company said Thursday it will offer hardware, software and technical services to help manage the Cyberbit Range-powered training and simulation environment while the Metropolitan State University will supply the facilities and instructors for the training program.
Cyberbit Range, an Elbit Systems-developed simulation platform, helps train and certify thousands of cybersecurity personnel at training centers around the world including locations in Japan, Germany, Switzerland, France and the U.S.
Raanan Horowitz, president and CEO of Elbit Systems of America, said the team will provide advanced training and simulation capacities for the university’s cyber laboratory as well as offer realistic simulation services to prepare trainees for various situations when they enter the U.S. workforce.
The partnership also works to mitigate challenges related to streamlining the certification of future cybersecurity personnel and an increasing demand for new cybersecurity experts.
The program is slated to begin training operations in the spring of 2018.
