Raytheon has announced its missile systems production facility in Tucson, Arizona, has obtained a “superior” security rating from the Defense Security Service for the sixth consecutive year.
The company said Wednesday it received a score of 851 from a week-long audit of the plant, 14 points away from a perfect score.
DSS gives the superior rating to industry contractors who have consistently fulfilled management and security requirements found in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual.
Leslie Whitaker, an industrial security representative at DSS, said that Raytheon’s missile systems business demonstrated efforts to integrate a risk-based approach into the unit’s industrial security program.
The agency monitors the security of nearly 13,000 defense contractor facilities.
