Cameron Chehreh, chief technology officer of Dell EMC’s federal business, has said he expects federal agencies to advance experimentation with cloud migration and information technology upgrades driven by the passage of the Modernizing Government Technology Act and the release of the White House’s IT modernization report, FedTech Magazine reported Tuesday.
Chehreh said he believes the White House report and the MGT Act would help agencies advance the adoption of artificial intelligence and IT infrastructure.
He noted the potential cybersecurity trends in 2018 such as the use of cyber threat intelligence by agencies and the transition from network protection towards efforts to safeguard data and other critical assets needed to support missions.
Chehreh cited the increasing adoption of hyperconverged infrastructure platforms as agencies comply with the Data Center Optimization Initiative, which aims to facilitate data center consolidation and server virtualization.
He said he expects agencies to increase the adoption of software-defined networking in an effort to protect networks and classified data from potential cyber attacks.
