BAE Systems has awarded Laser Centrum a contract to supply mechanical parts needed to build a mortar system for installation on Sweden’s CV90 infantry fighting vehicles.
Laser Centrum is the second Czech supplier chosen by the U.K.-based defense contractor this year to support production of the Mjolner mortars for the Swedish army, BAE said Monday.
The partnership expands BAE’s industrial cooperation relationships as the company looks to offer the CV90 platform as a potential replacement for Czech Republic BMP II IFVs.
Laser Centrum specializes in laser cutting, welding and metal bending services for metal sheet manufacturing.
